DIY Mexi-Spice Blend Recipe

Try this DIY mexi-spice blend to help get those creative juices flowing.

What You Need

  •  1 tablespoon chili powderMexi spice blend_womens nutrition
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon pink or sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper


Mix all ingredients together and seal in container with tightly-fitting lid. Store in cool, dark cupboard for up to 2 months. When making a meal, use 2 Tbs seasoning mix for every 1 lb of ground or sliced beef, chicken or turkey – even fish or tofu! Add a little water or a squeeze of fresh lime if you prefer it “saucy”, then enjoy your naturally-spiced protein any way you like – on top of a salad with added red kidney beans and a sprinkle of full-fat real cheese? In a whole grain wrap with all kinds of fresh fixings? Lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado and a dollop of plain greek yogurt - Olé!
